About Our Model:
Our Cutty Sark model is built from scratch, plank on frame, and strip by strip of exotic wood. It is put together and is completely hand built by skillful and creative master craftsmen; you will be amazed at how real it looks. The hull is truly beautiful - a combination of skill and pure wood. The hull is smoothed out equally giving it a shiny and silky feel. On the ship, you can easily locate stunning wooden details such as: wooden booms, wooden bunker, front and main masts with fabric sails with detailed stitching, all rigging are matching colors, wooden life boats, wooden storage room, metal hand-rails on the front and back of the ship, metal ornaments embedded with Cutty Sark locating in the stern and front left of the ship, metal anchors, metal statue (figure-head) in front of the ship, and many more. We absolutely use no plastic parts only the highest quality wood and metal. Our model was built according to scale taken from original plans, pictures and drawings. Attached to this model is a wooden stand with a metal name plate embedded “Cutty Sark 1869”. This model will be shipped to you inside a secure wooden crate; it comes fully-assembled and ready to be display.

Brief Historical Reference -
The Cutty Sark was built in Dumbarton, Scotland, in 1869 and engaged in the China Tea trade until 1873. She then embarked upon twenty years of passages between England and Australia. After 1895 she served under the Portuguese flag for twenty five years. She now belongs to the Thames Nautical Training College and she is currently being refitted after being damaged by fire in 2007 at Greenwich, London.
